Autumn is one of our favourite seasons. ⁣

The beginning of the autumn season was 23rd of September. It marked the Autumn Equinox which is known as the first day of fall. And @sarahzimmer1 Sarah’s dad’s birthday. 🍂😍

What other reasons why we love autumn? Read on.⠀⁣

From 23rd September, the hours of night-time and day-time are approximately equal. And from there on, nights start to get longer indicating the move to winter. ☀️🌙 ⁣

The Equinox is celebrated in different ways around the world – here are some of those rituals you can try this season:⠀⁣

  1. Just as we go through changing inner seasons, our homes do as well. Hanging an item or amulet on the front door of your home is a great practice to help you respect the spirit of your home. The front door is the space that acts as the symbolic doorway for energy to enter. ⁣
  2. 🍁 Autumn smoke cleansing – Gather your herbs and bundle them together to dry to make autumn smoke bundles that can be later used for smoke cleansing. Smoke cleansing helps remove negativity from a person, object or environment. Herbs such as sage, rosemary and peppermint make for a great base herb to remove negativity. Tying in yarrow, cinnamon sticks, or thyme are great additions to fill a space with healing energy. ⠀⁣
  3. 🍎 Apple picking  – This fruit symbolises knowledge and good fortune, so picking one yourself is a hopeful ritual to become wiser in the new season!⠀⁣
  4. 🎆 Tea Blend – Gather with loved ones for a tea-blending party. Harvest and dry the herbs in your garden, and pick up a few helpful supplies such as storage tins, tea bags, and a mortar and pestle. Boil some water and fetch your favorite tea pot, and play around with different blends, taking care to name your favorites so you can enjoy them later. ⁣
  5. 🥧 And (drum-roll) – whip up some of your favourite fall recipes! From Pumpkin pie, to pumpkin spice latte, to pumpkin muffins, etc… Head to Our Journal where you can find some of our favourites. ⁣
